TPEA's Political Action Committee

EMPACT is the political action committee of the Texas Public Employees Association (TPEA). For 45 years, EMPACT has given us the power to magnify our voice at the capitol. As state employees, we have a unique advantage: every 2 or 4 years, we get to vote on our bosses – the members of the Texas legislature. Voting is only the first step in making sure our bosses care about their workforce. EMPACT is TPEA’s solution to effectively communicating our approval – or the opposite – of the way our bosses support state employees. By helping pay for the rising costs of running for public office and by lobbying members of the legislature, EMPACT ensures that lawmakers tend to the issues we care about. In past legislative sessions, EMPACT donors like you helped make these big changes possible:

  • Stabilized the ERS pension fund
  • Pay raises
  • Maintaining insurance benefits
